Pollyanne; aptly named I consider myself a "Pollyanna" of sorts - someone who seems always to be able to find something to be "glad" about no matter what circumstances arise. It is sometimes used pejoratively, referring to someone whose optimism is excessive to the point of naïveté or refusing to accept the facts of an unfortunate situation. I suppose it's for others to judge whether this is accurate or not - either way life throws up it's challenges over this we have no power....we do,however, have the power to choose how to continue; in the same direction - in a different direction or somewhere in the middle?

Had a lovely morning with Peter - trailed around a car boot fair buying only eggs and Sweet Williams then a few charity shops (high st. shops are overpriced rubbish - much better things to buy in 2nd hand shops!) where I did very well - 2 pairs of shorts, trousers, 3 pairs of sandals and a hat! Had a cream tea and called at the garden centre on the way home - I bought Peter a very "middle-aged" type early birthday present of a pair of garden chairs - wooden steamers actually! Tres Chic - it did make us both feel old; I for giving and he for receiving with equal enthusiasm! Ha ha they tell me it comes to us all.
Am looking forward to lounging in them tomorrow evening with a VERY LARGE G&T!!!
And then to work...when your In-Box gets past 350 e-mails all more important and urgent than the previous you know you're getting swamped...the little coloured flags used to mark importance appear to be uniform in colour - RED for urgent...needed it yesterday.
I'm very grateful to Aimee today who at 10pm (when I realised that I really could not afford a day away from the theatre tomorrow even if I did work past midnight tonight) agreed to attend an all day meeting 1hr 1/2 drive away on my behalf! What a relief - I know when I go these things they always result in more work for me....at least Aimee will be able to filter out the stuff I really don't need to know! Phew!
So many balls in the air at the moment - bound to drop one sooner or later!
I think Pete has tried them out the new Garden chairs this evening - I hope so - he has been working so hard recently that a "day-off" is just what he needed; makes me feel bad for working late though...that doesn't help.

Beginning to realise I'm a little whingey tonight so will sign off cheerily looking forward to more beautiful weather tomorrow! Until then x
